In these third world countries, the little rent a cops security guards in airports have so much power, they tell you where to walk, which line to walk in, walk 100 yards through the maze when there is no one in line, just to end up five steps from where you started. Insanity. Absolutely senseless to push back because they will screw you.

Flying through another small country to avoid Miami International Airport. Will arrive IAH in the morning, bright and early. Without coffee. Might have to grab a cup somewhere along the way.

Overnight flights are another beating. Can only sleep because you’re too tired to stay awake. Uncomfortable arm rests cut off the circulation in my arms. I know, you don’t care. Whatever. I don’t care.

I think one of the worst trips ever was a 24 hour flight from Houston to Hanoi, 12 hour time difference. In country for three days, then back to Houston. I did that twice in three weeks. My body clock was completely jacked up for a long time.

Did the same thing from Houston to Ghana several times, except those were 72 hour trips, there and back. Ugh. On the bright side, I got a lot of KLM porcelain houses during those trips.

One of my best trips was two weeks in Singapore. If you know, you know.

I picked up a sinus cold after getting home. I’m sure I caught it in one of the airports or on a plane. Probably Covid-lite, except I just had non-symptomatic Covid infection a few months ago. One would thing antibodies would be raging right know. Oh well, it could be the common cold.
