    Advantages or disadvantages, I'm thinking of getting a Bob's 12"
    for my boat. Any comments good or bad will be appreciated..

    all I see are pros. first off shallow water take offs are easier.
    idleing through shallows at low speeds easier.

    cons. maybe pump going out, but havent heard alot of that happening.

    plus the set back manual or hyd improves performance of your boat. The set back allows the motor to push the boat more so than trying to keep the bow up.
