Windy day in Delacroix! I had the great pleasure of fishing with Allen and company from Coca Cola for a good old fashion trout smack down. The guys were worried about the wind and nearly cancelled, but after some reassurance we decided to go give it a try to see what we could do. The wind was already blowing 15 to 20 when we got out and things were not look good. After trying a few working birds and several shorelines and a few I told you so we found a protected cove with some clean water. The bite wasn’t fast but it was worth hanging around for with us catching a couple of nice quality fish every 15 minutes. So we set up for the long haul and stuck it out there. We ended the day catching 75 trout most weighing in from 2 to 3lbs. with one tipping the scale at 4. All fish were caught on live croakers under a cork. The guys were a pleasure fishing with and all had a great time, and I am looking forward to the next trip them.
