41st Annual Marathon International Tarpon Tournament
For three consecutive nights, tarpon anglers are to hunt, battle, and catch and release the most powerful of inshore game fish during the 41st Annual Marathon International Tarpon Tournament, slated for May 10-12 in Marathon.
The tournament gets under way with late a sign-up and captains meeting beginning at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 10th, at the World Class Angler, 5050 Overseas Highway bayside in Marathon.
Fishing Thursday and Friday is set for 5-9 p.m., to be followed by a fish tales party beginning at 9:30 p.m. at the World Class Angler.
On Saturday, fishing runs from 4-8 p.m., followed by the tournament dinner and awards party. The venue is yet to be determined.
First-, second- and third-place tournament trophies are to be presented to the top individual anglers and two-angler teams.
Entry fee is $250 per angler. An additional $40 registration fee applies for anglers who wish to compete for team trophies. Social tickets are available for $50 per person.
