I'm headed to Texas tomorrow for 30 days of relaxing and a lot of fishing. I'm new to catfishing, but will be visiting a tournament on Nov 13 at Lake Braunig near San Antonio, just to see what it's all about. See www.southtexascatfish.org. When I get back home in December would like see if we can generate some catfish interest here in the panhandle. There is a good bit reported on www.pensacolafishingforum.com

Well, with the best on intentions to "learn" about Texas catfish my attention was diverted to bream fishing. We did catch one 4 lb blue cat but bream ruled the day. I still plan to start catfishing this month in the Choctawhatchee River. The river is a strong cat producer, it's just that I have never put any effort into cats. Will post a Texas Bream report in the Freshwater Reports section.
