For you guys that have fished both, what do you think?

This fall has not been what I would call a typical year. What I have experienced is that Florida Strain Bass are much much more sensitive to cold weather and the bite really turns off. I was surprised that local tournament do not take nearly as much weight to win as back in Texas. Personally, I think I like Texas better, but then I have not fished any of the premier lakes down here. I intend to before I leave though.

I just moved to Florida from South Texas and have not fished here yet, but I can say that the fishing in South Texas is unreal right now. I have yet to find a lake that produces so many big fish like Falcon Lake.

Nothing like Amistad. Shallow dirty lakes with lots of grass.

Actually, Amistad is very clear right now. You can see about 20 ft into the water. That's why the swimbait bite is so good out there.

How is Conroe looking? The only time I fished in Texas was there, and it was churned up from wind and real muddy. I got skunked that day.

Haven't been to Conroe, but I know a lot of guys that fish it. Right now I would be willing to bet that is LOW. Most of the lakes are very low.

I'll bet they are. That's one reason why I don't mind the rainy season here in Florida.

Conroe is extremely low. The Sun & Houston are sucking it dry...
