Kevin Ryman of Ryman construction called last week, he wanted to take one of his foreman out fishing. We met this morning at the ramp, bait was easy and quick 2 casts mixed sizes from inch long to 4 inch long. Got to the first spot a couple of minutes late, somebody was sitting there catching reds one after the other! We headed to the little manatee river and caught a few reds, a couple of snook pups, and a big jack that acted like a big snook( yep it fooled me too)! We made our way to another spot I had done well on recently and it was hot then not one red boated one missed and then nothing. Moving a little further down the shore line we spotted a snook that was enormous! She was none the wiser we were there and looked at a well placed bait but turned up her nose at it. Kevin lost a snook probably in the mid to upper 30's ( inches) the fish was fighting and the line went slack GONE! Kevin did nothing wrong that I saw just wasn't her day to be caught. A few minutes later the same thing on an over-slot red, go figure! Poor Rich had a hard time catching anything but catfish and jacks, although he almost got the trash can slam. For a day with a slow tide the bite was ok, just gotta make out better on the opportunities we were given, maybe next time!

    Capt. Tim-

I'm heading to the Keys in a month or so and decided to take 19 south from I-10 this time. If you had to pick 2 places to stop and fish, where would they be? Locations can be on 19 down to Tampa or 75 south of Tampa.

So many places so little timeMy 2 stops would be Tarpon springs, the reds are starting to school and should be pleanty of action, second stop , Boca Grande, Marco, !0,000islands. the fishing down there has been good too! Thats a tough question man, there are so many stops to make like Hoprse shoe beach, Perry, Clearwater, Ft. Desoto, Anna Maria, Sarasota. Tough decisiion. Good Luck! It might take a while to make it to Key West.
