We are still a ways out here in Texas before they move up on the beds,we have had some pretty cold weather the last couple of weeks.

It's starting to go off here in North Florida, but things have been on fire in Central and South Florida for about a month now. The next full moon we have it's gonna get real ugly.

Fished a 30 boat tournament on the St. Johns River yesterday and it only took about 15 lbs to win and big fish was only 5.22 lbs. The wind was brutal and the water temps have dropped back below 60 degrees. We are supposed to have high temps in the 70's all week and the full moon is Thursday. I have a BASS Federation Qualifier this coming weekend and I expect it to be a slugfest. It should take around 30 lbs. In Florida we are only allowed to weigh one fish over 22"(unless the tourney director pulls waivers) so that 30 lb mark is tough to eclipse. With waivers there could be some 35-40 lb bags.

Sounds like a great conservation effort on the part of Fla fish and Game. That's almost the same regs as Fork.

We have some lakes in Florida that are slot limit lakes. At these lakes the limit is 3 fish per person. One of which may be over 24" and the rest have to be under 15". All black bass between 15 and 24" must be released immediately.

Alright, fished that Federation qualifier that I previously posted about. They did end up getting waivers so we could weigh -in more than one big fish. 21 boats and it took 27+ lbs to get a check. My team tournament partner won with 39.46 lbs and had big fish of 10.88, he also had a 10.44, a 9.56 and another one about 7 along with a 14" keeper for his fifth fish. Second place was over 29 lbs, third was 28.90 lbs and fourth(last check) was over 27 lbs. Fifth was 26.88 sixth was 22+ lbs and I was a measly seventh with 21.70 lbs. frown

I know it's always the one that got away, but I did lose a solid 10+ at about 1:30 that afternoon. I did have one that weighed 9.78 that I caught on my third pitch of the morning.
