The last few days have been very tuff, with the new moon and strong tides fishing should have been good. Saturday was a local Redfish/Snook tournament with 88 boats and more then 270 anglers. I was worried about catching a tournament Redfish. First spot of the day yielded three! 12 Slot Reds in Total for the day but no slot Snook! Only 9 boats brought in Snook......makes me feel a little bit better.
Since Saturday it hasn't got much better. Thankfully today with 86 year old Syd Samuels on the boat we got it done!
3 hours no reds and 20 or so small snook. The last spot produces! Two Slot Snook! First Syd gets a beautiful 31 inch and second cast yields a 28 incher!
Whew! After all that rain we have had the fish gods are smiling again!
