Fishing Tradewinds County Park (north side) and catching bass up to 2lbs. this past weekend ! This parks lake has pretty big fish (caught a 9.2 lb several years ago) usually around 3 and 4 lbs. and lots of micro-squealers (3/4lb. to 1 lb.)

Schools of threadfin shad are bustin' up around sunset and schooling bass are chasing hard ! These schoolies average around two pounds but often run bigger...

This past weekend was slow at first but as the sun set it blew up with Rappala's being thrown into the shad school frenzy !

Before this I threw carolina rigs with short leaders and bowling balls for weight (1 oz.) My plastic was Culprit ribbon tail in watermelon or junebug ! The day before they wouldn't hit anything but motor-oil and I tried various colors going back and forth !

What part of the lake is the best part to fish? My 6 year son has a fishing tournament there and we went to test it out the past Sunday and we were their for 2 1/2 hours (4pm - 6pm) and we did not get one bite. I was trying all kinds of baits and lures but nothing. I consider my self a pretty good fisherman and I was shocked that this happened. If you can help us out in anyway I would really be grateful.

    Thanks,
