I am saddened when I hear another charter captain has hung up his spurs. As Sec/Tres of the Florida Guides Association I have been hearing similar stories to the one I heard today. Today's notice was simple, "I have decided to hang it up on the guiding. The last couple of years have went downhill and I just think it is a good time to get out." This is only one of many I have heard this year but they all have the same result. I just have to wonder if the fisheries management folks have any idea, or if they care, about the economic repercussions of their actions.

Sad news Ron. I'm sure the general state of the economy is a factor as well. Hopefully 2012 will be a better year for all of us!
