Alright so I'm new to saltwater fishing but pretty soon I'll be fishing for tarpon off the pier in Aruba. Just had some equipment questions and was wondering if anybody had any suggestions. So far I've decided I'll most likely be buying a penn fierce 8000 reel paired with 5-10 yards of 50 pound mono backing then 300 yards of 832 advanced superline 50 pound sufix braid then a 5 foot sufix flourocarbon invisi-line leader. My friend told me to buy mustad circle or bait hooks but I'm still not sure what kind of rod to buy, but i think I'm going to need 10 foot or more. Also, I'd like to know what knot i should use to tie the mono backing to the braid, and I was told i should use an albright knot to tie the mainline (braid) to the flourocarbon leader, and use an improved clinch knot to tie the hook to the leader. Any ideas?
