    Hi everyone,

Planning a vacation to Florida with my brother, looking for a trip or two for sport fishing, deep sea or not. I'm from Texas and an experienced saltwater angler, so I don't mind wading or fishing hard and all day long. I mostly fish for reds and trout, so would like to kick it up a notch to Tarpon fishing or something similar. I love wade fishing and I also enjoy fly fishing... any recommendations for Boca Raton or south of there?

    Thanks,
    Danielle

You can always try fishing on your own. www.threebone.com is an information website that explains fishing along the roadside beaches in the florida keys. The website has How and where, fishing reports, fishing blog, and even a short story and humor section of my funny experiences of living in the Florida Keys. The website mostly pertains to wading the flats for bonefish; but has an abundance of DIY roadside fishing information. Also a clean humor blog. Enjoy, and good luck.

I can tell you who not to fish with. I had a chater booked in Key Largo this past weekend and the capt never even showed up.

I learned (3) lessons this weekend.

    1) Never book a charter with a Captain without leaving a deposit.
    2) Never be lazy and think it is easier to get a charter than to trailer your own boat down to Key Largo from Palm Beach.
    3) Never book a charter from Just Hook em charters out of Key Largo.

When you pack up your young son and nephews at 4am and tell them we are headed to the Keys for a killer day of fishing and the capt does even show up, call or try to contact me to tell me he will not be there, that is tough on the kids.

    So a good lesson learned-
I will have my boat ready next time and not rely on the unreliable!
    Beware of who you chater!!!!!!
