they are lots of peacocks and exotic species to target along with Largemouths...I usually just walk the banks and sightcast with my 5wt and usually a small EP minnow pattern

    Louie-

Here's my 2 cents, for what it's worth. Florida is full of very tasty saltwater fish. Largemouth and peacock bass are decent to eat. In my opinion, at best, good frying fish. I would leave them for someone else or for you to catch another time. CPR - Catch, Photo, Release.

Additionally, I would be a little concerned about run-off in the canals. There's bound to be a fair amount of herbicides, pesticides and other chemicals. FWC may test these waters, since they have become a popular fishery, but I don't know for sure whether or not they do.

I have heard all the stories but have yet to hit the canals when I am down there.

The canals can have big fish but some are dirty mosquito filled "sewers"

hey exactly where are you catching those peacocks at,seems like all the best fishing if you dont have a boat is private property.
