Finally getting my boat back on the water after many upgrades - fresh new floors, SeaDek laid, electronics newly wired and working, etc.

However, my outboard (1992 Johnson 48 SPL) would not turn over. Got word it was indeed my OMC starter...Now, in looking for a replacement, how good are "aftermarket" starters? Which brands are somewhat comparable to OMC? I actually already purchased an Arco after receiving word that they are a "really good" aftermarket...I am bolting her on this weekend and seeing what I have to work with. This is after many repairs and maintenance to the outboard.

Thank you for your help! And, wish me luck! It has been a lawn ornament for a few years...

Arco is the best aftermarket for starters. The Sierra and Mallory.
