I am going to buy a new Chart Plotter (with the correct maps) and a Depth finder.. The boat is your typical CC 18 Ft Carolina Skiff........All of my fishing is in 3 ft to 60 ft of water, w/ 99% of it under 15ft---Fishing area is Homosassa to Crystal River, Florida.. This is a new "past time" for me as my fishing background is on the Pacific Coast & very commercially orientated..

I'd like to spend under $1500 for the pair, but I am sure I will need to be open minded on cost as I am a tad out on touch w/ current $$.. I have looked at some "combos", and that is appealing because of the size constraints, but ??? ..

Any current recommendations from actual users of the equipment of what would be best, and a place to buy the stuff where after sales support (if needed) can be had over the phone, would surely be appreciated..

    Wes

HDS 7 w/structure scan will run you right about $1500. That's what I would recommend.
