I will be coming to Desting in late March and probably going to fish some off of a pier. I need some information on what to fish for, what kind of baits work best, live or artificial bait, and what kind of rod and reel to use. Thanks for the information that I will be given.

Bottom rigs and Fee-lining baits are common presentations for pier fishing in Florida. Shrimp, pogies, squid, mud minnows, and blue runners are pretty standard bait options. For artificial i would use metal Gotcha plugs, buck-tails and soft plastics such as GULP or SALTWATER ASSASSIN with jig heads. If u go to the local bait and tackle shops around the piers, or Walmart, they should be able to tell you whats biting on what.

I agree with the gotcha plugs,There will be Spanish Macks all over the beach and inlets at that time.
