I have been living outside Jacksonville for the past two years now, and the inshore fishing is great, but i know that i can catch the same fish in the surf. I know that if i was in Gulf Shores, Alabama right now i would be getting into schools of big reds in the surf with mullet and croaker. I tried fishing Fernandina Beach this fall but the only fish i saw were killed by the red tide and washed up on the beach. Is Surf Fishing Northeast Florida Worth My Time?

It is normally pretty good, but during red tide the baitfish die and the game fish go away!

When fishing the area, toss your bait just beyond the breakers into the through behind the sand bar. There are almost always witting there as well as many other fish.

    Good luck!
