Hi guys, I recently treated myself to a tyrnos 30 wide and was wondering what would be the best way to clean it after a day of fishing... Would it be smart to dunk it in a bucket of warm water after tightening the drag or just spray it with the water hose? Thanks!

Getting a lot of water inside is not a good idea. Best to mist them with a hose and blow or wipe dry. Then spray with something like reel magic to keep it form pitting from the saltwater. Take apart every couple of months and clean inside and re lube. Heavy amounts of lube is not good just enough to keep it smooth. Also read in the owner manual how to care for the drag system ( wet or dry). I have four Tyrnos and they work like the day I bought them.

exactly what i try to do, except the blow dry and i only open em up once a year unless something goes wrong. i've done this for many years and it works. none of my reels are younger than 15.
