Fishing has been hot this month, from cobia to king mackerel near shore and big jacks and grouper offshore. The spanish mackerel bite hasn't been the strongest, but is getting better every day. Bait is generally easy to come by, with hardtails, cigar minnows and threadfin very abundant. Normal baits and tactics will catch the kings, who are starting to show up on the beach in better numbers, though best bet is to find structure about 4-6 miles off the beach. Cobia are showing up in good numbers on the wrecks and rocks so always have a pitch bait/flatline ready.

Inshore the trout bite has been hot along with redfish. The sheepshead bite has slowed down as they end their spawn, but the mangrove snapper bite has picked up the slack. Live shrimp free lined with a no 1 (not 1/0) circle hook will catch both species. Look for both species near docks or rock piles.
